TOO COLD
I stand beside a pond of icy water
It's early in the afternoon
But the days are getting much shorter
Ducks slip and waddle as they try to walk their way
It's much too cold for children
To come out and play
Naked branches stand quite motionless
Stripped of summer's coat
And taking a long yearned for rest
Winter helter-skelters towards the end of December
Hats and gloves and snug warm boots
Are definitely things to remember
