Visit to the Leaning Tower Of Pisa
While living in Italy as military wives,
my friend and I decided we should go
and check out the tourist sites.
Driving to Pisa to see the leaning tower,
boy they were not kidding --
it really was leaning.
My friend decided we should go to the top,
but I afraid of heights asked her are you sure,
it might fall.
She then said if it falls, your name would go down in history
as someone who died when the tower fell.
YES, I FELL FOR THAT!
Climbing way up those tiny stone stairs,
wondering each step how much higher must I go.
Finally at the top we came out into the light,
what a beautiful view came into sight.
Enjoying myself way up in the air,
the bells on the tower
starting ringing when we were up there.
While the bells were ringing
and the wind was blowing
you could feel the sway of the tower.
My friend looking sick not liking the motion and
sway of the tower, said lets get down off
this horrible tower.
