Not Again

I watch the candle flicker,
as you sit there and snicker.
How did it get this way?
Why say the things you say?
Remember the walks we took?
We'd wade across the brook.
We'd catch the wind and sing,
enjoying everything.
You carried me in your arms.
I fell for all your charms.
Barefoot we would go.
Enjoying life so.
Why did it go wrong?
What happened to our song?
Now my stomach churns,
as the candle slowly burns.
I don't know what to say.
What is your mood today?
I'm afraid to speak at all.
I'm feeling sad and small.
I'd like to leave this place,
Instead, I watch your face.
Hoping to see a sign,
that today will be just fine.
I wish I could tell quicker,
what you mean by the snicker.
Please, not today.
I wish you'd go away.
Don't hurt me again.
You were once my friend.
I see the candle die,
as I begin to cry.
Please, love me like before.
Don't do this anymore.
Here it comes, BAM!!!
You've hit me once again.
