A New Dawn

A New Dawn

As I go into a new dawn
I enter the unknown
Not sure of where my path leads
But I know I'll be alone.

What there is ahead of me?
Is not visible to my eyes
But forward is my direction now
As I begin to cry…

I cry for all the memories
Of dreams never fulfilled
Of broken truths and promises
The scars that needed to be healed.

Where will my path lead me?
Where will it take me too?
Fear cannot be part of this
As it's an illusion and never true.

Strength will be my mainstay now
To help to pull me through
I've laid aside all weaknesses
They were so many, never few!

On reflection there is not much change
As I was alone when I was born
So that thought is strangely comforting
As again alone I face my new dawn.
