Internal Graffiti

Delirium

I'm in a sanctuary
with music from my past
flowing through the holes in the walls.
It's dark here, yet peaceful.
I didn't want to wake up today
and if I didn't get interrupted,
this is where i would stay
forever.

My mouth is dry
and it's so cold outside.
My eyes are watering.
I could sleep for a thousand years
But the angels never let me.

I'm crying now
because i'm happy as well
here, beneath warm blankets
and no windows to distract me.

My broken past bleeds out
in the tears that fall.
And i realize that I am free,
finally

and the rest of the world is fast asleep.
