You came for me like I knew you would
As in my lonely castle I stood,
Day in, day out I waited for you
But I knew your love for me was true.
My heart was slowly pining away
But I knew you`d come for me one day,
I`d watch the road for your trusty steed
I knew he`d carry you at great speed.
You rode so fast on the dusty trail
From far you came over hill and dale,
And I could hardly believe my eyes
When I saw the clouds of dust arise.
My heart was pounding within my breast
And to keep it there my hand I pressed,
So happy now tears filled my eyes
I had to try and stifle my cries.
The top of the tower was quite a climb
You ran up the steps two at a time,
With arms open wide I ran to you
This is something I had longed to do.
You held me close and kissed my lips
My heart did somersaults and skips,
I felt lightheaded at your touch
I knew we loved each other so much.
I`d watch for you from this castle wall
Where day after day my tears would fall,
But my Shining Knight came and rescued me
Now together we will happily be.
