Spring...wishful Thinking!

As the cold blue velvet of the night slowly fades
into the icy realm of dawn, the still of winter blankets
mother earth’s refrain leaving all of God’s creatures
praying for an early spring.

Spring, Oh! Wonderful warm spring!
The sleepy trees awaken and thankfully sing.
“Oh! Green leaves of spring…beautiful spring
Spring. Oh! spring…please bring summer to
us all once again!
Summer… warm skies of blue, colorful birds
on the wing, and rainbow’s prommise of gold
at its end.

So! Old man winter, please release your cold icy grip
and melt away…for we’ve had enough ice and snow
during these cold winter days!
