Poetry For Everyday People
Flamenco Skies
I sat waiting
the moon rose
light so bright
I had to open
a window
let it out
give it air
as we waited
for angels
to release
the night
for that wink
of understanding
treading softly
on butterfly surfaces
these rare moments
looking up at angels
lighting stars
in the sky
looking down
on me and I bow
in a modest poem
letting go
laying flat
on my back
looking up
at the arches
of heaven.
the moon rose
light so bright
I had to open
a window
let it out
give it air
as we waited
for angels
to release
the night
for that wink
of understanding
treading softly
on butterfly surfaces
these rare moments
looking up at angels
lighting stars
in the sky
looking down
on me and I bow
in a modest poem
letting go
laying flat
on my back
looking up
at the arches
of heaven.
