The words of Spring fall lightly from my lips
When the harsh wind falters and relinquishes its fierce grip
Winter's overcoat steadily loses regal reign
And hedgerows are in bud as befits a country lane
Snowmen have shivered and run away at last
Threatening gales and storms are a thing of the past
My heart is full of a new song reawakening dormant life
Rhymes are reminding everyone that season's changes are rife
Towering trees wave branches laden with newness
Hibernating animals stretch their legs and squint with light
Fields emerge with emerald green magnificence
Mother Nature toils to display a wonderful sight
