Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Daughter of the Confederacy
She has a stubborn rebel soul,
this lovely child of Dixie.
The ghosts of the Confederacy
ride merrily through her heart.
The dreamy ideals of a new nation
under the Stars and Bars,
and freedom from the tyrants
of the haughty North dance
joyously through her head.
A steely musket she'll gladly bear
to achieve her lofty goal,
and if death be the price,
gladly will she lay down her life,
for she is a faithful, fair haired
daughter of the South.
