Rhymes of the Heart

Embellished Memories

There's a picture Lord of Heaven
Embedded deeply in my mind
Where roses never fade and die
Streets of gold are so refined

There's a river that we call life
That's so clear and crystal blue
A place where there's no sickness
Where love is pure and true

There's harps played by Angels
As you take that very first flight
The hand of God to lead you on
Into the brightest light

There's a stairway to Heaven
With a door that leads to You
A place to spend eternity
When this old life is through

Used to see it all so clearly
Now my heart is filled with grief
Embellish now my memory
For his stay was all too brief

Lord I can't see the picture
My tears distort the view
That's why I'm on my knees tonight
In humble prayer to you

You hold a special Angel there
With wings of purest white
Paint my son in this picture
Adorned in Heavenly light

This I dedicate to a wonderful and very talented lady
and to a Mother who knows the pain of grief
Dixie Hutto my friend this is for you
