So early in the morning
How I'd love to rise~
In the early morning summer time
Before the sun was in the sky~
I'd walk down to the local beach
And gaze there at the calmest sea~
Then I'd walk along that beach
For a few miles , two or three~
With the softest sand under my feet
Picking up a shell that took my eye~
And collecting pieces of drift wood
As I came by them by and by~
The silence only interrupted
By the sea breeze and an odd sea bird~
Or a couple walking as I did but the other way
The most peaceful silence I've ever heard~
The air so pure and fine to breath
The smell of deep sea brine~
The caress of the smallest waves on wet sand
A morning walk divine~
I'd carry home my latest collection
Of drift wood and finest shell~
Oh how I simply adored my early morning walks
Not far from where I once did dwell~
I am hoping to go back one day
To that same most wonderful place~
Where I would take my early morning walks
In natures most wonderful of places with all it's grace~
