The Void
Through my Window
Tinted glass, broken pane, through my window I watch the pouring rain.
I listen to the musical sound of water splashing on the ground, the rain
cascades down the walls outside but I can not hear the sound.
I cast away my dreams, as they lay like mirrors reflecting shattered day dreams.
Through my window I see people begging for money on the pavement; but I look beyond them
and cast no judgment.
I watch the day outside, as the clouds above divide, the sun brakes through the darkened sky,
and revives the world of it's storm clouds, and splits them open wide.
Through my window, I can see everything I look at sets mind free. No smudges, no streaks
no fingers leaving prints or making squeaks, saturated carpets saturated wet with rain, it
is seeping through my window sill, wooden splinted frame; fractured from age and time.
The locks and latches rusted, so they'll never look the same. Through my window, the world
outside seams confused and imperfect, I watch people waiting for the rain, hoping for a storm, not
knowing what to expect.
