Rhymes of the Heart
A Gentle Hush
When evening shadows fall
Lay blanket to the ground
The songbirds strike a pose
In voice so profound
Blossoms bow their heads
As if in evening prayer
The shadows over take them
A gentle hush fills the air
The moon appears like candlelight
Stars they shy away
Leaves curl up in solitude
The wind has gone astray
The river sleeps inside its bed
Its surface smooth as glass
Reflections of a quiet time
Nothing can surpass
Majestic mountains statuesque
In solemn dignity they sleep
Clouds in languid mood
Lacking spirit slowly creep
Another day has ended
In melancholy rush
Both tranquil and serene
A soothing gentle hush
