Crosses To Bear

In long evening hours when the days are spent
troubles, like shadows, leave us to wonder
Ominous, foreboding, twisty and bent
they hang in our conscience loud like thunder
Daylight comes streaming like promises new
Light rays of hope like a spider web thread
Cling, that we must, for the good to ensue
lest hope we give up and give in to dread
All in the world have dark secrets kept,
lingering issues of trouble or woe
Daily we strive to correct or accept
in our vain attempt to let no one know
To lessen the burden, your secret share
Remember we all have crosses to bear
