Alone I sat one darkest night
When all of a sudden I saw their light~
I got right back then a kind of fright
As I was then only three foot in height~
They slowly flew around and around
And never made a single sound~
Up higher and then near the ground
My eyes were frozen to them I'll be bound~
I watched them for what seems awhile
So beautiful I had to smile~
As they all together as if in a pile
They did their thing and with such style~
Their glow how bright it seemed to be
As they all flew around of me~
Like Christmas lights I watched with glee
This first time fantastic sight to see~
The first time I saw the fire fly so bright
Hundreds of them late at night~
How I still remember that beautiful sight
All the fire flies as one in flight~
