If I Could....(The Condition of Humanity)
If I could cast my eyes
to the skies
Surely the heavy raindrops
would represent my cries
If I could cast my ears to the sea
She never come upon shore peacefully,
but crash upon the grainy sand,
looking to heal the souls of man
If I could throw my feelings in the wind
the trees would cringe and bend
while earthly beasts look upward
every now and then,
Wondering why man go through such
heartache for sin
If I could throw my heart to the earth
Maybe some of the souls she took in death
She'll prevent at birth
before their hard struggles start...
because she has a heart
If I could give my tongue to the stars,
Their sparkle would shine bright
in the night
Praying God meet the needs
of the helpless seeds
down here
While singing prayerful songs
with words oh so sincere
If I could give my feet to the
morning light
She'd take the poor something to eat
in the long impatience night
Even while the shadows appear
They'll surely thank God for
something to bite
while Morning sheds a tear
O if I could....
