I remember what it was like to hold you,
Your soft and warm body against mine,
I remember what it was I told you,
While ours bodies were intertwined.
I whispered in your ear so softly,
To your face it brought a smile,
Your eyes were shining so very brightly,
Our embrace lingered for a while.
We stood holding onto each other,
Neither wanting to let go,
Kisses coming one after another,
Some fast and some real slow.
I could feel my passion build,
And I think yours did too,
Though the cup of passion was filled,
We did not drink of that wonderful brew.
For we both know that we need time,
To see if this union would work,
We both feel that it could be sublime,
If only we could get over other hurt.
For our past has a hold on our feelings today,
Though this should not be so,
What happened before we need to keep at bay,
So what we have now can grow.
So now from one good friend to another,
And friends is what we are,
I hope you find your way thru all the other,
Feelings that left a scar.
Scars left over from other times,
Do heal and sometimes fade,
And I hope that these few lines of rhyme,
Will help them be properly weighed.
