ole granfers farm
old granfer raised pigs some goats and some cows some cockerels that crowed the dogs went bow wow he had just 2 acres some sties and some barns a n orchard and a cowshed a car in the yard he was up afore dawn to bed for twas pitch pitch dark he had just 8 children with Alice his loven spark he just read the bible plus Chatterley too he told yarns to the children he was a kind fool he spent days in the brickyard working his keep not far from poole nights at the foundry he hardly did sleep his fruit it was awesome his farm it was neat he rode a cart and pony had kiddies at his feet old granfer loved booze though he rarely got drunk though he was kind n dead sober he wasn't no monk he wrote stylish letters knew Orwell and crew hardly moved further afield than down near old Poole his farm it was known by sweet lady guest she loaned him a cottage called heather view she was very impressed he knew Augustus john plus hardy the man though i guess i was his greatest fan for he was a so wise and a true durzet man Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
