little bill

they called him little bill cause he was only small
he wasn't born rich always was poor
he smoked twenty woodbine's a day
told a yarn n limerick to past the time away

they called him little n not often
for he was never much in demand
but he could play shove halfpenny
at cards he often had the winning hand

he road the trucks for cousin Sid
he kept all his dreams so well hid
they called him little bill  cause he was tiny n small
he worked dam hard n never broke the law

he worked in the iron foundary each day
at night he was in the pits making clay
      little bill
often he would go up on hill

though he never shopped or wrote a note
he was often parted with his money gambling
the gee gees made him broke
      they called him little bill

he was one for the ladies in his youth
he was joker and he'd tell jokes uncouth
      little bill
