I had a lonely childhood,
For my parents died you see, So I had to live in an orphanage, And that was sad for me. My childhood was so different, Than it should have been, There were many nights, I would have this dream… My parents would be happy, Joyous, glad and gay, We would have such fun, As throughout the day we'd play. I would be delighted, With treats of sweets and toys, Cars and soldiers, and games, That were especially for boys. My days would be full of laughter, And my nights would be secure, Knowing that my parents, Were in the room next door. My life would be full of love, In the knowledge that I'd be, Forever in my parents hears, That's all I needed my life to be. But my dream turned to a nightmare Of the very worst kind, I lost the parents that I loved, The best parents you could find. So I lived in an orphanage, Alone and sad each day, Until I was adopted, By new parents who came my way. Life is never as we want it to be, Of that I'm very sure, But things happen for a reason, Even though I don't know what for? But I no this much, Even though for life it wasn't to be, I'm glad I had my parents, They meant the world to me. I was given a second chance, By new parents who I love, And in my heart, I know, My mum and dad are watching from above. Vote for this poem |
