Death comes to all, but not like this
CHRIST would succumb birthed by a kiss
Tied, shackled, kicked, bruised and battered
JESUS became least of mans matter
Arrested, dragged without resistance
He'd walk and stand before persistence
Judged by those who saw a threat
By innocence some had not met
They gave the Son of man away
To face a death that still today
Washes the sin by blood His spilled
The Lamb Of God, tortured and killed
Accused of wrong that was so right
CHRIST would be flogged without a fight
Alone again His back would weather
The stripes, by lashes dispensed with leather
He'd fall and rise to much surprise
To all who witnessed this great demise
That came to save a world in need
Ignored by man, this loving seed
A crown of thorns adorned His brow
Amazed accusers would ask but how
How could a man, this man they thought
Could bare the weight upon Him bought
The walk with cross upon His shoulder
Would weigh much more by looks much colder
Alone, rejected, persecuted, neglected
The road would bleed by soul dissected
Yet still the son of man would hold
His own to show what was foretold
His heart, passion purer than gold
Would serve notice to young and old
The path became crowded and blocked
Soldiers would lash, with laughter they mocked
The rock of salvation, mankind's greatest story
Belittled in life, snuff out Heavens glory
Mother would give chase to comfort her son
But fate had been written today would become
The day where pure innocence would alter mans fate
On cross CHRIST would wear, where goodness shined great
Agonized, traumatized, by bones his man shattered
The you he would save yesterday today matters
On cross he would cry father please forgive them
For they know not what they do, God son man condemned
Evil would scream in total disbelief
CHRIST would succumb but not to their grief
For today He would die to save those He loved
His end our beginning, man first he thought of
