I wonder where this road is going,
That I am walking on,
Seems that it just gets longer and is not showing,
Over the next hill and beyond.
I know that I must travel it,
Whether I wish it or not,
The alternative is to just sit,
And forevermore you would have naught.
This road is called life,
That everyone who lives goes down,
The ones who don't really never live,
They just sit, and wait, and frown.
Some just run away,
From life and all its woes,
They go backward on this road of ours,
Trying to hide I suppose.
But hiding never solved anything,
When dealing with your life,
Neither love nor happiness does it bring,
Only uncertainty and strife.
I choose not to take this path,
To hide I simply refuse,
If you don't believe then do the math,
The figures don't lie or confuse.
You can't run away from life forever,
For you still end up the same place,
To end your life and to have never,
Loved anyone and leave with tears on your face.
Better to walk with head held high,
And deal with what life throws at you,
Then when the end is finally nigh,
You say I enjoyed it, and now I bid adieu.
