My Brief Moment In Time

Arrived in thirty-three,
red wagon and tricycle
at three.

At ten, bicycle, little leage,
swimming holes and fishing
poles.

At fifteen, football  games
and home coming queens.

At seventeen, fifty eight chev
and the young love scene.

At eighteen, military uniforms,
Marching songs and a jungle
war were no one belongs.

At twenty-five, marriage, work
and children’s delight.

At fifty, grandfather’s role in sight,
and life seems sweet and bright.

At sixty-five, beginning to slow and tire,
and  wondering if fate has been a liar?

At Seventy-five, pain and strain,
constantly wondering if the end
of the road will be tomorrow?

At eighty-five, gone from here,
and will never re-appear, but
life was sweet for the brief
moment that I was here!
