In the WoodsI use to go into the woods and sit upon a log, alone Just to be close to heaven and feel the love within My soul would fly softly toward the heavens above. My heart's worries leaving me,calmness to take it's place. I was such a lonely child,no friends to come and play. No one to play the childhood games like others that I knew. No one to care or lead the way to fantasies abound, But yet such love within the woods Where my soul would take to flight. Sometimes I wish I were that child again And soar to the sky above and feel such love and tenderness. Perhaps soon I will get my wish And fly up in the heavens And feel the soft breezes upon my skin And love within my heart. 2/22/2008 Judy Lindsey Vote for this poem |
