And I hate that

Why is negativity and pessimism
More contagious
Than positivity and optimism?
What the hell is up with that?
I don't know but the red door
In the back
Has the symbol of sorrow
For its calling card
And I wonder what
It means
Or if its meaningless.
Its an existential question
Or is it rhetorical?
Have my card…
And I give them away
Knowing it only shows a fraction
Of who I am
And explaining it all takes
More time than
The average American's
Attention span.
What a shame.
Then blank cards
Tease me with imagery
Of boots and shoes
Mini art of the muse
Demanding to be made
Demanding that no matter
How much I want to stay
In bed with my lover
They demand to be traded,
And I'm not even there yet.
Then Captain Jack invades
The scene.
Elizabeth's silken skin and
Parted lips mixes
With purple, pink, and the red
Of love…

To do her justice
