 Our Daughter Ruth

Hello,
come in,
this is my husband John.
Please take a seat,
I'll go and put the kettle on.

You want to talk about our daughter Ruth,
no I don't mind,
although it's been,
such a long long time,
it seems like only yesterday.

Here are some photos,
you might like to see,
this is when she was nine,
would you like more tea?

After she was,
you know,
after she died,
we didn't like,
how the papers described,
her,
as a prostitute,
and a drug addict too,
although it was true.

It was as if they thought that,
didn't make what happened so bad,
and as I said at the time,
to her Dad.
She's our daughter Ruth,
and we miss her like mad,
we always will,
and we always have.
She was our daughter Ruth,
our little girl,
and we loved her so.
