 ^*^ Unjust Blame ^*^
>alone

Lay the blame upon my wounded heart
Your words as sharpen daggers pierced
The tender source of my woman's soul
Each sentence said with force so fierce

If you could feel my throbbing pain
Wasted was my sacrifice
Injured feelings made me back away
Your tone was that of frozen ice

I see you now through different eyes
The one to whom I gave my all
Before this bitter man I stand
In total shame and verbal maul

Years of hardship and poverty
Has left for us the taste of loss
Once a vibrant lady now slowly fades
Into the pit of hell she's tossed

What excuse can repair unjust insults
When their intended purpose were surely gained
A broken spirit has been cast in chains
Our marriage has been torn in twain

I pause to think of a girl born meek
Who's joy was to grow older in her age
Beside a man whose dreams were great
Can we perchance rewrite life's page?
