Thank God That I Was Home

I gave myself a bit of a shock today
Someone played that old time rock n roll~
And then something it took over
Yes .. I can still today do the stroll~
All those old hand jive moves and steps
Came back as good as way back when~
And some simply looking at me said
Well I'll be he's as good as he was then~
All of those old foot steps and moves
Came back from yesterday~
I could not believe it myself
As my feet took over and had their way~
Rubber legs they called me as a young bloke
And I guess that it's still all there~
My Tracy laughed and looked at me
Saying you could not take him anywhere~
Tracy she was doing just so well and
Told them leave him alone~
But one thing for sure I feel
Thank God that I was home~
All it takes is to jolt a memory
Greatest days a little gone by time~
But all that hand jive and rock n roll
It's still there and doing fine~
I told my feet that I'm not as young
As I was away back when~
But I guess feet have not got ears
And away they went ag'en ~
Next thing all were doing same
And having such a time were they~
But thank god that I was at home
Dancing with my Tracy May~
