Summer cat
Oh summer cat.
You are
so careless.
Selfish,
Yet self restrained.
Childish,
Happy and arrogant.
Teasing me,
As I tremble under foot.
Relax!
For you blenched
when you noticed
I know your deeper secret.
Relax summer cat.
True,
I failed again
to test your mettle,
And I am weary,
I am sad
But don't shy away?
I just want
to rest a little.
May be,
Catnap nearby.
Steal some your dreams,
Then gain some wisdom.
May be,
I wake up again,
to find me another creature,
Who does not bear
a human name.
