I woke up this morning and opened my eyes,
There you were lying sleeping it seems,
I blinked my eyes for to my surprise,
I had thought that you were only a dream.
I watched you sleeping for a while,
Your breathing was gentle and deep,
Then I broke out in a great big smile,
For I remember last night before we went to sleep.
I remembered the feel of your arms,
As they enfolded me in their embrace,
I remember your look of terrible alarm,
When I left the lights on so I could see your face.
But you got over your fear of the light,
When my lips found yours,
We both knew everything seemed so right,
And our need for each other could not be ignored.
We both found passion as never before,
With anyone else in our past,
To new heights our lovemaking did soar,
Until we were exhausted at last.
Whatever happens from this point forward,
Could never diminish the meaning,
Of a night like the one we just explored,
Due to our meeting by fate intervening.
