Matters of the Heart
Wouldst that we could be but ourselves,
In matters of the heart,
Perhaps we could see what lies within,
And be troubled not when we start.
For we all think we know best,
Keeping ourselves concealed,
Hiding our feelings from the rest,
But this too shall be revealed.
We only tend to fool ourselves,
When we set our emotions apart,
The one who cares for you there,
Can see thru any false start.
So you see listen to me,
Play it really smart,
Take the time to be genuine,
In matters of the heart.
