For you and I in life it's so
To walk a garden trail one day~
Might take us all of an hour true
Compared to time zones of come what may~
It takes an ant much longer to
Go out for food to feed the family~
It takes much longer to work each day
For the likes of the garden bee~
It takes lifetimes of our time
For a star to simply die~
To see many things we'd need to live so long
To ever view their entire life and sigh~
We take so much for granted
We miss ever so much it's true~
We leave home with destinations upon our minds
And miss almost everything on the way through~
To watch a slow motion documentary
Of a flower during it's entire growing~
From the smallest seed to when it dies
And eventually it's seeds it's sowing~
Fastened by a camera for us to view
One then comes to realize~
Just how very many miracles and creations
Every day escape our very eyes~
The slow motion of a small drop of dew
Slowly running down a petal soft~
Often the slow motion of a highest bird
As if frozen within the sky aloft~
The slow motion of a single raindrop
Falling romantically down to the driest sand~
The slowest motion of a golden leaf
Dancing ever so towards the earth to land~
The ever slow motion of a butterfly
Being born upon a garden stork~
Smallest ever insects every day
Live sometimes lifetimes as we walk~
The ever slowest motion of an opening flower
As it forms from bud to an ever sublime bloom~
The colors as they are changing all of the time
When a sunbeam slowly enters a room~
We live mostly our entire lives
And see so very little at all each day~
All for free to all and you and me
And yet to a movie at a picture show we pay~
We feel that we live fore filled lives
But it's all about a thing called time~
In the need to get ever so much done
While missing endless miracles right down the line~
It's been said that time wastes us
Our bodies and our wits~
But we are always wasting our time
So I guess time and us are quits~
But if we ever simply stopped to think
If only now and again~
Of all the most beautiful things we miss
Our lives would never be the same~
