The road I trod

A consequence of lost innocence
nothing and no one to trust
no one asked to be this way…
but for survival on the streets it's a must.
And so very many lost innocents
are lost to the streets in this way
always fighting fear and fighting tears
but no ones concerned what they say.
I was once a child of lost innocence
and nothing seemed playful again
I never asked to be that way…
but the road that I trod bore my name.
I searched high and low for true innocence
then I realised and everything was clear
what I searched for always inside of me…
with answers to all of my fears!
