 Sticky Lane

She lived in a cottage,
in Sticky Lane,
we didn't know her,
but Miss Mary Burford,
was her name.
She walked past our house,
every single day,
going to the local shop,
then back home,
to her cottage,
in Sticky Lane.

Sometimes she'd have,
her dog with her,
walking by her side,
that funny old lady,
who we called 'Mrs Goggins'
because we didn't know her name.
Her cottage now is empty,
since she passed away,
we looked through the dusty windows,
where one of her shoes,
lay on the floor,
there's not much else to say,
but Rest In Peace Miss Mary Burford,
who lived in Sticky Lane.
