 ramblings and things

Midnight train

This is the midnight train to here and back
And it travels through each night
Carrying restless souls to nowhere
Until each dawn's breaking light
Some of them are dry eyed
And some of them weep
But all of them are silent
For all of them are asleep

All are dreaming they are sleepless
In a myriad other places
Most will wake exhausted
In other times and spaces
And this quiet journey
Tries to offer quiet relief
As each copes with their problems
As each copes with their various griefs

Some will wake up eased
For some of them will find
They have found their answer
On this quiet journey of the mind
There is no one to make a judgement
On the midnight train to here and back
Just the offer of a quiet peaceful haven
In the journey offered along its hidden track
