Cauldron black and perilously cold
I stepped into the forest, being so bold
Not tripping over roots and keeping my balance
Eeriness called that broke all silence
Crackling leaves lay underfoot, sleeping on damp moss
Why was I even there at all, was it just because
The night whispered dreams of you, I smiled in wake
Your outstretched hand was waiting for me to take
You lifted my frame and shone a glow
Love you laid and I succumbed to the flow
Arms around me keeping me warm
Sheltered in your cape from a fearsome storm
Dawn was soon to visit and I wiped my eyes
Awaking early I used to despise
But now you walk beside me, my love of the night
Is where I find comfort and my spirit is bright
