Heart Of The Matter
It's In The Can !
He understands the way I am,
He knows how far to go,
He's quiet in encouragement,
“Yes you can!” he says,
I know….
And perfectly I play the part,
He so, wants me to be,
So well rehearsed,
Perfection,
We're going on TV,
Forget about the cameraman,
The call for ‘action' please,
I'm rooted to the spot now,
Dear God,
Don't let me freeze,
I look at him and gentle eyes,
Are smiling back at me,
Now focused on the job in hand,
The words are flowing free,
And freely I perform for him,
I play the part so well,
In just one take,
It's in the can,
I did it!
