The Corruption of Beauty

God with his own hands formed beauty
and gave it to the world
But what do you do when man accepts
        the diamonds
   and rejects the pearls?
If beauty is beholden in our eyes
  that search beyond the skies
for the sparkle of the pure well,
why is natural beauty such a hard sell?
Only man puts prices on things God
               gave us free
   O Greed and Corruption
you stab at the heart of me
You took what was given as a gift
and sold it for a price
You'll take the thirty pieces
(for him you sold) eternity in hell
         and a cup of ice
