Hi dearest Bunny, glad you dropped by,
You are so clever, I bet you can fly.
Those eggs you dropped off, what a great idea,
I want to thank you for bringing me Easter cheer.
Thanks for the photo at bottom of note,
Photographing yourself? You can use a remote?
My Daddy used to shoot bunnies; I thought you should know,
But he's dead now, so his real gun, out we did throw.
Now you are safe to run, jump and play,
You can run down The Strand by night and by day.
When I was four – everything I did know,
But when I turn 6, my memory will slow.
But if your computer or printer give grief,
I'll squeeze into your hutch to bring needed relief.
I'm turning 6 on Sunday – I'll be big boy then,
And celebrating the resurrection, Hallelujah, amen.
My friend Margie, she can use Google you know,
She told me I'll be 178 next time God puts on this show.
I noticed in the great photograph you sent,
Your nose has grown long and become very bent.
I don't mind that, it makes you look wise,
And you are a great listener, check out the ear size.
There is something I've found no one will tell,
When you rode a dinosaur to school, did it have a bell?
My friend Margie, recons the world should know,
You're a great neighbour, keeping joy well aglow.
So we published this poem for all the world to see,
You'll find it on www.poetrypoem/ramehum with a picture of me.
About 2 years ago, my dear friend Liz was having difficulty with some electronic gadgetry. Her son, living to far away, said to find any local 4 year old - they could fix it.
Well, dear Liz asked me, and hey presto - it worked.
Over the years I've helped with computers etc as a neighbour should for a much more senior person in the street.
On Sunday, another emergency call. The printer was duly fixed and made operational.
This morning, there was a box of chocolate Easter eggs left on our patio.
Typical of Liz, she had attached a thank you note. The note was addressed to 'The five year old', and signed the message as 'Bunny'. At the bottom of the note was a clip art picture of an elephant signing the thank you note.
This year my birthday falls on Easter Sunday. Last time that happened was 1913 and will not happen again for many many years.
