Memories of Past Presents
Tour of Duty
More Poetry >>
As I sit here on this rock,
Watching the river flow,
I think of things and take stock,
Of which way my life will go.
My life is like this river,
Flowing so swift and deep,
Moving on to deliver,
What it carries for those who seek.
My love must be as the current,
That guides the water downstream,
To the people that weren't,
Aware they were in my dreams.
For I have so much love to share,
This river could not contain it all,
I don't think there is any way to compare,
What I see when I try to recall.
The people that have been in my life,
That had a share of my love,
My Mother, Father, Brother, Sister and Wife,
And many others I can think of.
But the one that I have with me now,
That has more than just a share,
Has my undivided emotional vow,
There has never been anything to compare.
My love runs deep and still tonight,
To the one that has captured my heart,
I know that when we kiss it will excite,
And we will make love like a work of art.
