the thinking poet

I write about a love I have never had
Although I have been loved by mum and dad
I have never woken, and said to someone “I love you”
A fact I am afraid, sad but true?
So narrow minded and engrossed I have been
I sometimes forget about the life I've seen
I have traveled to India an seen the bizarre
I have climbed to Mount Everest to Kalla Patar
I have sent the seedy Thailand nights
And been to Europe and seen the sights
I have traveled on the Trans Siberian express
And dealt with the travelers stress
I have been to Mongolia and China
And been all around South East Asia
I have made the best of friends with a complete stranger
I have been to New Zealand and down under
I have seen places that make me wonder
I have made many friends and seen many go
I have many memories and photos to show
I have been to South America and Borneo
I have said yes too many things which should've been no!
I have been to rock concerts and camped in mud
I have seen many girls leave, which I have loved
I have been well educated and got a degree
And I now I find myself doing an MA, back at uni
I have seen my mum marry another
I have felt the love of a brother
I written books on poetry
I have still so much more to see
I am, I can say, very happy!
And even at times I might know it!
I will always be a thinking poet!
