Death Couldn't Keep Him In The Grave
Death Couldn't Keep Him In The Grave
Jesus sat with His disciples at The Last Supper and as He blessed it
He broke the bread and proclaimed this is my body broken for you,
and the wine is my blood shed for you, then He said;
For as oft as you do take of this "Do this in remembrance of me"
After the Last Supper, Jesus and His disciples went
to the garden of Gethsemene to pray
Jesus cried out to the Father in agonizing dismay
Let this cup pass from me Father this day
As He prayed beads of blood rose upon his forehead
Knowing God's will was for His precious blood to be shed
Suddenly_ a great multitude of soldiers and men with weapons
Appeared out of nowhere ,to arrest God's sacrificial lamb
He was taken to stand trial before Pilate that day
The fulfilling of scripture was to be His mandate
Our Messiah was given His cross to carry that day
Toward the hill of Golgotha He stumbled along the way
This representing we too would stumble with trials some day
Yet His blood would cover all if only we would repent and pray
On the old rugged cross they nailed His hands and feet
The life of our Savior in the 9th hour would deplete
He cried out; My God, My God _why hast thou forsaken me?!
So as it was in the ninth hour He said; Father, Into thy hands
I commend my spirit
Joseph from Arimathea went to Pilate to plea
Asking ; Will you release Jesus of Nazareth's body to me?
Pilate quickly agreed and Joseph transported Jesus to the tomb
The hearts of His followers were filled with sadness and gloom
Hallelujah _Christ the Glory
Hallelujah _ Amen
Hallelujah _Christ the Glory
He's Risen _Again!!!
And as it was written ,He arose in three days_
For death couldn't hold our Savior in the grave.
