* *The Night Before Easter* * ©

Twas the night before easter
so quiet and still,
when a knock at my door there
gave me a chill.
There stood a man
so humble and fair,
i said come on in if you can
out of the night air....

When swiftly my heart began to pound,
of all the places to stop it's my house He found.
It wasn't but seconds i felt His embrace,
and i saw such a glow on His face.
His arms reached for me out-stretched so wide,
and He said thank you for letting me come inside.
When what do my wondering eyes do see,
but a stranger stooped low on bended knee.
With a quick glance i knew my Saviour Divine,
had come to bless me at easter time.
More rapid than doves a calm came over my soul,
i gave my fears to Him to take control.
Then Christ Lord Of All called me by name,
follow me were His words if you feel no shame.
Watching as He performed deeds of undying love,
i knew His power came from above.
Yet man had let Him die,
in the dark of that tomb our Saviour did lie.
Then in a flash of power so rare,
the stone rolled away He was gone from there.
Robed all in white with a radiant beam,
stood there so magical like out of a dream.
In His Eyes how compassion shown,
i couldn't believe He was in my home.
His arms reaching out bid me come,
the time of any worry was done.
I stood there in nothing but awe,
for the reason for easter i finally saw.
Then quickly as the scenes appeared,
they faded but i never feared.
For that kind of light shall never dim,
i had seen easter's morn had been there with Him.
As i saw Him with magic i couldn't help but stare,
i knew that my Saviour would always be there.
And i heard Him exclaim as He rose out of sight,
a blessed easter to all let go of any fright!
