With This Ring I Thee Wed
Love is not an emotion. It is an act.
It is a commitment. As you vow to always
remain faithful, to cherish, to protect--
remember you are cutting covenant with
each other as God has cut covenant with you.
Love is not a fluttering heart. It is a steady
hand. May you always hold one another up when
life tries to push the other down. Always
reach out to touch each other in comfort, in
encouragement, and in prayer. Be one another's
port in times of storms.
Love is not a dream. It is a reality. What
Jesus did on The Cross is real. May you
always forgive each other as He continues to
forgive you. May you die to self and live for
one another...and for Him. For if He is given
proper place in the marriage it will work. For
all things work together for good to them that
love God and are called according to His purpose.
Love is not for takers. It is for givers.
I give you this poem on your wedding day. May
it always remind you that love is a gift. For
God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son. Be blessed. Be fruitful and
multiply. Be in Christ and you'll always be
in love. For God is love.
Lovingly,
(c)Doris Jacobs-Covington
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three,
but the greatest of these is love."
