Away back when boys were boys
In the early days long ago~
Having no option but to make their own fun
And great fun they had don't you know~
Two boys out for adventure
On a weekend away and from home~
Exploring and playing all sorts of games
These two lads on their own~
It had been snowing one weekend
And it lay all over deep~
They came to a country road out of town
And they walked down the hill there steep~
They knew that a local doctor
Would this morning be coming into town~
So they thought they'd play a trick on him
And saw now great fun coming down~
They built a snow man on the road
Knowing he was coming along~
And they knew he would run over it
Giving the boys a message strong~
Along he came and ran over it
And he laughed as he drove away~
But these two boys they had a plan
That was half done upon this day~
They then dragged out a big old tree stump
And built another snow man around it there~
And along he came on the way back home
They thought this was beyond compare~
The doctor drove right at it hard
Laughing doing as he was about to do~
And he ran into this great big tree stump
And up the hill the two boys then flew~
That'll teach you they yelled out
Running over our snow man~
The car was not in real great shape
The front all bent just like a can~
Well the doctor knew he had himself to blame
And the boys were as wild as could be~
That was like some of the things they'd do
