Blind Loyalty

This poem shows how loyal the soldiers were to
the queen, even if they were blinded by it.

Men with tunnel vision
 in an uncommon dream,
"Hell to everybody else
 God Save The Queen!"
 In this harsh land
 where death and deed
 run hand and hand
"If fearful skin fills his sleeve
let God not call him a man!
For valor is more than a pressed uniform
  or an inspiring speech
Let true soldiers show up for battle
and we'll let the preachers preach
  But God...! the queen kept
For we will not let hell rest
til she has settled herself
   in heaven's nest"
