Foggy Glass
Foggy Glass
I can't help but feel myself return to a girl I thought I lost
the one that was cynical and bitter
the one that cared but could have shot herself in the foot
all in one breath....
You could tell me you know
but you never did
you can say you really loved me
but that is just it
you never really did...did you?
Anyone can say the words
make the lame attempt
behind a sweeping gesture
but we never was going have
that white picket fence was we?
the future we never got to have
the past we lost in the process
I guess it's right....
people break up and disappear everyday....
people forget words like "I love you"
and "you're everything",
and "meant for each other" all the time....
I say this like I mean it...
like I actually believe I've ever been right...
like that could actually ever be true
when so much has felt so wrong
for so long....
