Living In The 90's.
I never thought I'd get there!
Foe when I was just a lass,
I played all day with a football,
And marbles by the mass!
Never wore a ribbon!
Just denims and pumps for me!
I was better than the lads,
No one could fight me you see!
No angelic smile from me!
Just a scowl or two,
I belted the lads, put worms down their backs,
Oh, the things I put them through!
Then the 60's came along!
And yes, I do admit!
I wore dresses by the score,
I packed away my football kit!
Then we're in the 70's!
Back to climbing trees!
Sweet sixteen and muddy,
With dirty bloodied knees!
In 79 I was married!
Had three brats of my own!
Settled down to marriage well!
Kept the family home!
Then the 80's came along!
And I, so shy and demure...!
No more fights and arguments!
Cause I was a brat no more!
One minute I was busy…
With bottles and nappies galore!
All of a sudden, my babies have grown!
No more toys on the floor!
Now we're in the 90's
And goodness, did time fly!
When I look back with nostalgia!
It makes me want to cry!
Give me back the 60's!
When I was a lass again!
For just one more game of football...
Without this arthritic pain!
