It's 7 O'clock in the morning,
And you drag yourself out of bed,
Calling to the kids...
And you face the day in dread!
As you slowly descend the stairs,
The kids all come awake,
Shouting, bickering, arguing,
You scream, 'For goodness sake!'
As you put the kettle on...
You hear the cries and screams,
'Mum! I need the bathroom first!'
And your head bursts at the seams!
The kettle's boiled, you make the tea,
Sit down for peace and quiet,
Then the kids come down the stairs,
Next, we have a riot!
The times ticks by, the breakfasts ate,
They leave their mess by the sink,
Sugared frosties, stuck to the bowl,
Kids! They just don't think!
So, still arguing and fighting,
Off they go for the bus
The door is closed, peace descends,
No more fighting and fuss!
So you sit and take a breath,
Cause its sure what mum's are needin'!
Clothes all over the floor,
And dirty dishes from their feedin'!
The bathroom's such a tip,
And the beds are completely messed,
The sink is caked with soggy soap,
And the floor shrewn with dirty vests!
Downstairs is just as bad!
There's brushes and combs galore,
Slippers, bags and school books,
Left all over the floor!
By the time you've cleaned the 'caf'e,'
And cleared the 'hotel' through,
And you're feeling as knackered as can be,
But there's still there's lots to do!
A quick bite of a sandwich,
Then, preparing for their lunch,
Cause when they're all back from school,
They are a starving bunch!
Back to the treadmill,
To start all over again!
Yes, I really do agree...
Being a mum is such a pain!
But still, I wouldn't change things,
Not for a million pound,
Cause as us mums will all agree,
Our children are just sound!
